2 Timothy 3:5; Having a form of godliness, but denying the power thereof: from such turn away.
Greetings and Salutations my brethren! The Lord Jesus has placed a message upon my heart that speaks to those of us who are the redeemed and chosen children of God. Brethren the Lord is calling those of us who are the household of faith to examine our hearts. We must examine our hearts, and see if the leaven of the Pharisees (hypocrisy) has a hold on our hearts, minds, and lives. Luke 12:1 states; In the mean time, when there were gathered together an innumerable multitude of people, insomuch that they trode one upon another, he began to say unto his disciples first of all, Beware ye of the leaven of the Pharisees, which is hypocrisy. The Lord Jesus is telling us here that we must not say one thing and then do another. We must not only talk the talk, but we must walk the walk. In the age in which we live, many are claiming to be something or someone that they are not. They are living contrary to God’s holy word, and are indeed hypocrites. We must not live by the axiom; “do as I say, not as I do.” We as followers of the Lord Jesus must “lead by example” just as our precious Lord did. We as Christians must not fall into the temptation to fall back into sin, and walk according to the lusts of the flesh. We must not be “plank eyed saints” who point our fingers in judgement at our brother or sister in the Lord, when we ourselves are steeped in the very same sins that they are wrestling against. Matthew 7:3-5 states; vs.3 And why beholdest thou the mote that is in thine brother’s eye, but considerest not the beam that is thine own eye? vs.4 Or how wilt thou say to thy brother, Let me pull out the mote out of thine eye; and, behold, a beam is in thine own eye? vs.5 Thou hypocrite, first cast out the beam out of thine own eye; and then shalt thou see clearly to cast out the mote out of thy brother’s eye.
Brethren, the Lord Jesus is quite clear in this portion of scripture when He tells us that we are to beware of hypocrisy in our own lives. So, the question is: Are we who are followers of the most high God living lives worthy of being called a child of God, or are we following after the Pharisees and judging our brother when we ourselves are steeped in sin? Are we claiming to be a Christian, while living just the opposite of how we are commanded to live by the Lord Jesus himself? Brethren, search your hearts and seek the face of the Lord for the answer to these questions. We must examine our hearts brethren, and we must do so now. For if we are indeed steeped in sin and hypocrisy, we must ask forgiveness and repent, for we are indeed of a lukewarm spirit, and the Lord Jesus will vomit us from out of His mouth if we repent not. Revelation 3:16 states; So then because thou art lukewarm, and neither cold nor hot, I will spue thee out of my mouth. Brethren, we must examine our hearts and lives and work out our own salvation with fear and trembling before the Lord. It is time we walk worthy, and with our lives glorify our Lord and Savior the Lord Jesus Christ! Again, we must examine our hearts, minds, and lives and make sure that we are bearing good fruit in our lives. Whether or not the fruit of our lives is pleasing unto the Lord the Holy Ghost will let us know. We must ask ourselves if we are living lives that are pleasing unto the Lord. We must not be deceived into believing that we can live like the world, and expect to be pleasing unto the Lord. For those who are of His fold, they know the shepherd’s voice. We are not to adorn the outward man, but the innermost parts of the heart. We are to have a heart that is obedient to the Lord, and to His will for our lives. We are to be a tree that bears good fruit. If we do not bear good fruit, we are then good for nothing, and we will be cut down. Matthew 3:10 states; And now also the axe is laid unto the root of the trees: therefore every tree which bringeth not forth good fruit is hewn down , and cast into the fire. Again, we must ask ourselves if we are indeed living a life worthy of that great calling that the Lord Jesus has made upon our lives? Are we living a life that is Christ-like, or are we living a life that is steeped in sin and the leaven of the Pharisees? Does the world look at us and see the Lord Jesus, or does it see a hypocrite? We must examine our hearts my brethren, for the Lord is calling us to be holy as He is holy. 1 Peter 1:16 states; Because it is written, Be ye holy; for I am holy. Again my brethren we must examine our lives. We must come unto the Lord Jesus in humility and repentance. For the hour is fast approaching when we will be called to give an account of our lives, and how we have lived them. Brethren, are we living lives that glorify Jesus, or are we living lives that bring a reproach upon Him?
Brethren, in the hour in which we live, we are seeing that many of those who claim to be followers of Jesus are indeed false brethren. They have a form of godliness, but deny the power thereof. They are claiming to be Christians but they are not. 2 Timothy 3:5 states; Having a form of godliness, but denying the power thereof: from such turn away. For we shall know them by their works my brethren. Titus 1:16 states; They profess that they know God, but in their works they deny him, being abominable, and disobedient, and unto every good work reprobate. Mark them my brethren and beware, for they bring division and heresy into the house of God. Those who preach a false gospel of carnality and convenience have infiltrated the church, and are teaching damnable heresies which were not given to us by the Lord Jesus. They are teaching doctrines of men and of devils, and for this they will be judged according to their works. These false brethren who preach this false gospel are teaching that one does not need to repent of their sin. They are teaching that once one is saved, one cannot backslide again into sin, for one’s salvation is eternally secure. This goes contrary to the most holy word of God, and is causing the multitudes to be led astray and damned to hell. Those who are preaching this heretical false gospel of carnality and convenience will be judged according to their works. Because of their heretical teachings many will die in their sins and be lost in a devils hell for eternity. Those who teach these falsities will not escape their sure judgement on that great and terrible day of the Lord. Mark 9:42 states; And whosoever shall offend one of these little ones that believe in me, it is better for him that a millstone were hanged about his neck, and were cast into the sea. Brethren, be encouraged, for the Lord will not suffer those who are false brethren, false teachers, and false prophets to prosper. For the Lord will judge those who claim to be speaking in His holy name, yet are causing many to sin. For it is a fearful thing to fall into the hands of the living God. Hebrews 10:30-31 states; vs.30 For we know him that hath said, Vengeance belongeth unto me, I will recompense, saith the Lord. And again, The Lord shall judge his people. vs.31 It is a fearful thing to fall into the hands of the living God. Beware ye hypocrites, ye false prophets, ye wolves in sheep’s clothing for your judgement cometh quickly, and without repentance. For the Lord is not mocked, nor will He suffer those who preach and teach falsely to enter into His rest. For God knows the hearts of men. He knows the hearts of His little ones, and He will repay! Those who are preaching a false gospel of carnality and convenience in the name of the Lord Jesus, for filthy lucre’s sake, will be judged. None are exempt from this, no matter how deluded they may be. Be warned ye wolves in sheep’s clothing, repent of your sin and be ye converted, for the Lord will not strive with man, nor will He be mocked. For the Lord God is not fooled and He will repay! Romans 12:19 states; Do not take revenge yourselves, dear friends, but give place to God’s wrath, for it is written, “Vengeance is mine, I will repay” says the Lord.
Yes my brethren, it is time for those of who are of the household of faith to mark those that call themselves followers of Jesus, but walk contrary to His most holy word and teach others to do the same. It is time that we mark them that bring in damnable heresies into the house of the Lord and rebuke them for teaching falsely. It is time for those of us who are the true remnant of the Lord Jesus to fall on our faces in prayer and repentance for our sins and our hypocritical ways. It is time for those of us who call ourselves Christians to live lives worthy of His most holy and precious name. We must glorify our Lord in and through our lives as we walk worthy in Him. We must ask ourselves if we are professing to be His follower, yet living contrary to His most precious and holy word. If we are indeed living hypocritically, we must repent, ask forgiveness, and take up our cross daily and follow Him. Brethren, we must walk in the Spirit every moment of every day, and give no place to the devil. Ephesians 4: 24-27 states; vs.24 And that ye put on the new man, which after God is created in righteousness and true holiness. vs.25 Wherefore putting away lying, speak every man truth with his neighbor: for we are members one of another. vs.26 Be ye angry, and sin not: let not the sun go down upon your wrath. vs.27 Neither give place to the devil. Brethren, we must read and study God’s holy word every day and consume it, for it is our spiritual meat, and it is the Lord’s written word and will for our lives. We must also fall on our faces and pray with a humble and contrite heart before the Lord. Will you put away all hypocrisy from your life? Will you repent and surrender to the Lord Jesus Christ today and serve Him as His holy word instructs you to do? Brethren, when I ask you these questions, I am asking them of myself first. We must repent and seek the face of the Lord, for the time is short, and His return is soon and fast approaching. For we are living in the end times, and the day of the Lord draws ever so near. Walk worthy of that holy name by which you are saved, and give no place to the devil. Amen.
