“We Are Living In Perilous Times”

2 Timothy 3:1; This know also, that in the last days perilous times shall come.

Greetings and Salutations in our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. Brethren, we are certainly living in the last days. The Lord Jesus is returning soon. This is evidenced by all of the events taking place not only in America, but in other parts of the world as well. My heart is broken by all that I see and read. America has just legalized homosexual marriage. America has aborted over 60 million and counting precious little ones. The crime rate in America has skyrocketed, and is only getting worse. War is on America’s doorstep. America continues to print more and more money with no end in sight, which will cause a financial collapse sometime in the near future. Not to mention that all around the globe, there are wars, pestilences, and famines in divers places. The aforementioned tells me that we are indeed living in perilous times, and that the Lord Jesus’ soon return draws near. Mark 13:7 states; And when you hear of wars and rumors of wars be ye not troubled: for the end is not yet. Jesus is telling us, His holy people, that when you hear of wars and rumors of wars, do not be troubled. We must have faith and trust in Him for His provision during these times of tribulation, and be patient for our redemption draws near. Jesus spoke the Olivet discourse, in Luke 21:10-28; vs.10; Then he said unto them, Nation shall rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom: vs.11; And great earthquakes shall be in divers places, and famines and pestilences; and fearful sights and great signs shall there be from heaven. vs.12; But before all these, they shall lay their hands upon you, and persecute you, delivering you up to the synagogues, and into prison, being brought before kings and rulers for my namesake. vs.13; And it shall turn to you for a testimony. vs.14; Settle it therefore in your hearts, not to meditate before what ye shall say. vs.15; For I will give you a mouth and wisdom, which all of your adversaries shall not be able to gainsay or resist. vs.16; And you shall be betrayed both by parents, and brethren, and kinfolks, and friends; and some of you shall they cause to be put to death. vs.17; And ye shall be hated by all men for my namesake. vs.18 But there shall not a hair of your head perish. vs.19; In your patience possess ye your souls. vs.20; And And when ye shall see Jerusalem compassed with armies, then know that the desolation thereof is nigh. vs.21; Then let them which are in Judea flee to the mountains; and let them which are in the midst of it depart out; and let not them that are in the countries enter thereinto. vs.22; For these be the days of vengeance, that all things which are written may be fulfilled. vs.23; But woe unto them who are with child, and to them that give suck, in those days! for there shall be great distress in the land, and wrath upon the people. vs.24; And they shall fall by the edge of the sword, and shall be led away captive into all nations: and Jerusalem shall be trodden down of the Gentiles, until the times of the Gentiles be fulfilled. vs.25; And there shall be signs in the sun, and in the moon, and in the stars; and upon the earth distress of nations, with perplexity; the sea and the waves roaring; vs.26; Men’s hearts failing them for fear, and for looking after those things which are coming upon the earth: for the powers of heaven shall be shaken. vs.27; And then they shall see the Son of man coming in a cloud with great glory. vs.28; And when these things begin to come to pass, then look up, and lift up your heads; for your redemption draweth nigh. I encourage you my brethren to take heart, for our redemption draws near. We can see that all of the aforementioned signs are taking place. We are indeed living in the last days, and our Lord’s soon return is nearer than when we first believed. Take heart my brethren, for the Lord is indeed in control. The signs that we are seeing are the birth pangs before the end. Mark 13:8 states; For nation shall rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom: and there shall be earthquakes in divers places, and there shall be famines and troubles;these are the beginning of sorrows.

Brethren, we are indeed living in amazing times. We who are of the household of faith must be prepared to give a word in season to those who do not know Jesus, and a word of exhortation and encouragement to our fellow believers. We must have our hearts prepared for that which has come upon the earth in these last days. I have wrestled with how to prepare for great tribulation. I have asked the Lord to help me to discern the signs of the times. I have also asked the Lord Jesus to give me a word in season to believers and unbelievers alike. We as followers of Jesus should be prepared to preach the gospel to every creature even unto the utter ends of the earth. This is our great commission. Jesus told His disciples before He ascended into heaven in Mark 16:15-18; vs.15; And he said unto them, Go ye into all the world, and preach the gospel to every creature. vs.16; He that believeth and is baptized shall be saved; but he that believeth not shall be damned. vs.17; And these signs shall follow them that believe; In my name shall they cast out devils; and they shall speak with new tongues; vs.18; They shall take up serpents; and if they drink any deadly thing, it shall not hurt them; and they shall lay hands on the sick, and they shall recover. The times are such that we must be prepared for that which has come upon the earth. We must get our spiritual houses in order, and be unafraid to preach the one true gospel of our Lord Jesus Christ to every creature. We must be completely surrendered to the Lord in these perilous times. We must press towards the mark, for the prize, of the high calling of God. We must pray that the Lord will give us a word in season for those who do not know the Lord, and for our fellow believers alike.  The preparation of the gospel should be in our hearts at all times. Paul states in Ephesians 6:15; And your feet shod with the preparation of the gospel.

Brethren, the Lord Jesus told us what will happen in the last days. We must take heed lest we fall. We must seek the face of the Lord, pray fervently, read and study God’s holy word, and fast often. We must also put on the whole armor of God. Paul states in Ephesians 6:10-11; vs.10; Finally, my brethren, be strong in the Lord, and in the power of his might. vs.11; Put on the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil. We must be prepared for what is coming upon the earth in great anticipation of all that the Lord Jesus is going to do in these last days. For as these things come upon the earth, we are to be encouraged because our redemption draws near. Luke 21:28 states; And when these things begin to come to pass, then look up, and lift your heads; for your redemption draweth nigh.

Be encouraged my brethren. For no matter what trials and tribulations come, we are given a promise. We are promised that if we will trust in the Lord, He will provide for our needs according to His riches and glory. We are called to be salt and light in this lost and fallen world. We must not lose our savor by becoming spotted by the world. Remember brethren, that we are in this world, but we are not of it. The Lord Jesus has gone to prepare a place for us, that we should spend eternity with Him. The Lord goes before us. He is our strong high tower. He is our shield and our buckler. He is our refuge and our strength. Take heart my brethren for if we are living in obedience to Jesus, we are more than conquerers. We must not become ensnared by the wiles of the devil. We must fight the good fight of faith, and reprove the unfruitful works of darkness. Perilous times are upon us my brethren. Our hearts must be prepared for that which has and is coming upon the world. Our precious brethren around the world are suffering tribulation, persecution, and even death for Jesus namesake. Persecution and great tribulation are coming for those of us who live here in America as well. Do not be deceived my brethren. For the enemy of your soul is seeking whom he may devour. 1 Peter 5:8 states; Be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the devil, as a roaring lion, walketh about, seeking whom he may devour. Be sober and vigilant my brethren for we wrestle not against flesh and blood but against principalities and powers, and the rulers of darkness in high places which make war upon our soul. 2 Corinthians 2:4-6 states; vs.4 (For the weapons of our warfare are not carnal, but mighty through God, to the pulling down of strongholds;) vs.5; Casting down imaginations, and every high thing that exalts itself against the knowledge of God, and bringing every thought to the obedience of Christ; vs.6 And having in a readiness to revenge all disobedience, when your obedience is fulfilled. Brethren it is time that we prepare for that which has come and is coming upon this world. Are you spiritually prepared? If you are prepared then praise God! You are a wise virgin who has her lamp filled to overflowing with oil, the Holy Spirt of God. If you are not spiritually prepared then you are an unwise virgin who has not filled her lamp with oil. I beseech you on behalf of the Lord my brethren; prepare your hearts for that which is coming and has come upon this earth. Great tribulation is upon us; it is even at the door. The Lord is giving us a space of time to repent of our lukewarmness, carnality, and apathy towards the things of God. We must not squander the opportunity that the Lord is giving to each of us in this hour. We must be a witness and a testimony to those who do not know the Lord. We must testify of the great and mighty things that He is doing in our lives in these last days. We must also tell the world of the great love that God has for them. John 3:16 states; For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life. Seek the face of the Lord through prayer as often as you are moved by the Holy Spirit to do so. Read and study God’s holy word and fast often as well. Be encouraged my brethren, for the Lord Jesus is returning soon. He is coming in the clouds at the last trump. He is the King of Kings and Lord of Lords. For those of us who are watching and waiting for Him, He brings his reward of eternal life to those of us who will endure to the end. Prepare your hearts my brethren, for your redemption draws near. Revelation 22:12-13; vs.12; And behold, I come quickly; and my reward is with me, to give every man according as his work shall be. vs.13; I am Alpha and Omega, the beginning and the end, the first and the last. Amen.
