Proverbs 27:17; Iron sharpeneth iron; so a man sharpeneth the countenance of his friend.
Greetings and Salutations brethren! The Lord Jesus has placed a message of encouragement upon my heart and I would like to share it with you. The Lord impressed upon my heart that we who are of the household faith must put Jesus first in our lives above and beyond all else. For we are told to seek first the kingdom of God and his righteousness, and all of these things shall be added unto us. Matthew 6:31-34; vs.31 Therefore take no thought saying, What shall we eat? or, What shall we drink? or, Wherewithal shall we be clothed? vs.32 (For after these things do the gentiles seek:) for your heavenly Father knoweth that ye have need of all these things. vs.33 But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you. vs.34 Take therefore no thought for the morrow: for the morrow shall take thought for the things of itself. Sufficient unto the day is the evil thereof. Be encouraged my brethren, for the Lord will provide for our needs if we would but seek Him and His righteousness first. We must put God first in our lives. We must love Him and serve Him with our whole hearts, minds, and souls. If we would but do this, we would see the windows of heaven opened with such blessings, that we could not even begin to contain them. It is time my brethren that we lay up treasure in heaven. It is time that we trust our God for His unlimited provision for our lives. Matthew 6:19-21; vs.19 Lay not up for yourselves treasures upon the earth, where moth and rust doth corrupt, and where thieves break through and steal: vs.20 But lay up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where neither moth nor rust doth corrupt, and where thieves do not break through and steal. vs.21 For where your treasure is, there will your heart be also. Our hearts need to be totally given over and surrendered to our most holy Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, the precious Lamb of God. We cannot serve God and the things of this world. For no man can serve two masters. Matthew 6:24 states; No man can serve two masters: for either he will hate the one, and love the other; or else he will hold to the one and despise the other. Ye cannot serve God and mammon. Are you trying to serve two masters with one foot in the kingdom of God and one foot in the world? If you are not doing this, then praise God, for you are being obedient to the Lord. However, if you are doing this, repent and ask forgiveness for this sin. The Lord is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, if we would but humble ourselves before Him and repent, and ask forgiveness for our sin. Be encouraged, for the Lord is waiting with open arms to receive us when we fall. He is faithful and just to forgive us of our sins. Praise the holy Lamb of God!
One evening I was talking with a brother in the Lord about finding him a Spirit filled church with wherin he could to serve the Lord. After our conversation, the Lord placed upon my heart these words; “Iron Sharpens Iron.”I pondered these words, and then realized that when two or three are gathered in Jesus name, He is present and in the midst of them. Matthew 18:20 states; For where two or three are gathered together in my name, there I am in the midst of them. Praise the holy Lamb of God! We are to gather ourselves together, and not forsake this gathering. Hebrews 10:25 states; Not forsaking the assembling of yourselves together, as the manner of some is; but exorting one another: and so much the more, as ye see the day approaching. We as believers must have fellowship with one another, for we are one body and we are called to exort and encourage each other. How can this be done if we have no fellowship with them? We must not isolate ourselves from the body of Christ. For if we do this, how can the body function properly if one of it’s members are missing?
Do not be deceived my brethren, for the thief comes not but for to kill, steal and destroy. The enemy is seeking whom he may devour. He is looking for that one lost sheep who is alone and on his own living apart from the fold. When we give our hearts and lives to Jesus, we become a member of the body of Christ. We are called to serve the Lord in a local body of believers so that we can not only minister to that particular local body, but be ministered to by that particular body as well. Do not be deceived my brethren. Do not listen to the lies of the enemy which would say to you that you do not need to be part of a local body of believers. The devil is a liar, and he wants you to be isolated and alone, so that he can devour your very soul. Peter 5:8 states; Be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the devil, as a roaring lion, walketh about, seeking whom he may devour.
Listen to what the Spirit is saying to the church in this hour my brethren. Do not harden your heart, and do not let the enemy deceive you into believing that you can stand on your own. We need each other in the Lord. We also need to serve each other in the fear and admonition of the Lord as well. We are indeed members of the collective body of Christ. However, the local body is there for us to fellowship with, worship and praise the Lord with, and hear the word of the Lord preached with as well. We need the local body so that we can not only grow spiritually in the Lord, but be used of the Lord to exort, encourage, and uplift our fellow believers as well. Ecclesiastes 4:10 states; For if they fall the one will lift up his fellow: but woe to him that is alone when he falleth; for he hath not another to help him up.
Do not let the enemy isolate you from your fellow brothers and sisters. Do not listen to the lie that would tell you that you don’t need to be a part of the local body of believers, because you are strong enough to make it on your own. On the contrary, we need each other. For a three fold cord is not easily broken, and iron sharpens iron. Ecclesiastes 4:12 states; And if one prevail against him, two shall withstand him; and a three fold cord is not quickly broken. We as followers of the Lord Jesus need each other so that we can have accountability, and someone to lift us up when and if we fall. We must be obedient to our Lord and not forsake the gathering of ourselves together. We are called to be obedient servants. If we are obedient, we will be blessed beyond measure. Do not forsake the gathering of yourselves together my brethren, for if you do, you are setting yourself up for a fall, and you are being disobedient as well.
In closing I want to again encourage you my brethren. Please pray and seek the face of the Lord concerning what has been written here. Search out the scriptures, study, and show yourselves approved unto the Lord. For if you do this, you will surely see, that no man is an island, and that we need one another for encouragement and accountability. 2 Timothy 2:15; Study to show thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth. May the Lord bless you all mightily my beloved. Amen.
